Clinic physiotherapy appointment for?

Treatment and recovery planning
Your treatment plan is tailored to your symptoms, goals, and stage of recovery. Depending on what is appropriate, treatment may include hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, mobility work, loading strategies, postural advice, dry needling, electrotherapy, and practical guidance on what to do between sessions.
The aim is not just to reduce pain in the short term but to help you make meaningful longer-term progress. Every plan is individual, because recovery is rarely one-size-fits-all.
Working with other clinicians
When needed, we work closely with NHS and private GPs, consultants, and specialists across Colchester, Essex, and London.
With your permission, we can communicate directly with other clinicians to help you access the right investigations, referrals, or medical support at the right time.
This joined-up approach can be particularly helpful if your symptoms are more complex, your recovery has stalled, or you need reassurance about the next step in your care.
Appointment lengths and pricing
Both appointment types take place in the clinic and include personalised guidance to support your recovery.
We offer two clinic appointment options so you can choose the level of support that suits your needs.
30-minute appointment — £60
A focused assessment and treatment session for one main area of pain, injury, or stiffness. This is ideal if you have a straightforward problem and want clear diagnosis, targeted treatment, and practical advice.
60-minute appointment — £95
A longer appointment for more complex cases, multiple concerns, or situations where extra time is helpful. This is ideal if you have more than one issue, a more detailed history, or need a more thorough assessment and treatment plan.

Clinic location and practical details
Clinic physiotherapy appointments are available every Monday in Colchester at the Manor Health and Wellness Centre, 11 Manor Road, CO3 3LX.
We recommend parking on the 4th floor of St Mary’s Car Park. This allows you to exit directly onto Manor Road and walk straight to the clinic (less than a 30-second walk). For evening appointments (after 18:00), there is usually free on-street parking along Crouch Street, subject to availability.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being assessed, such as the shoulder, knee, hip, or lower back. You do not need a GP referral to book private physiotherapy.

Frequently asked Questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist privately?
No. You can self-refer at any time and book directly without seeing your GP first.
What happens at the first physiotherapy appointment?
We begin by discussing your symptoms, history, and goals, then carry out a physical examination to identify the source of your symptoms and any movement, strength, mobility or other issues that may be affecting recovery.
Will I receive treatment at the first session?
Yes, in most cases treatment begins at the first appointment once the assessment has been completed, unless further medical investigation is needed first. We recommend booking a 60-minute appointment for your first session if you have a more detailed history or want more treatment time.
Does physiotherapy hurt?
The aim is always to reduce pain and improve function. Some parts of an assessment or new treatment approach may cause mild discomfort, but everything is tailored to your comfort level and introduced appropriately.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. You may be asked to expose the area being assessed, such as your shoulder, knee, or lower back.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
That depends on the cause of your pain, the severity of the problem, and your goals. You are not tied into a set number of sessions, and guidance is reviewed regularly based on your progress.
Do you treat sports injuries, back pain, and long-term conditions?
Yes. We help with all musculoskeletal problems, including sports injuries, back and neck pain, joint issues, recovery after injury, and persistent or longer-term pain problems.
Can you communicate with my GP or consultant?
Yes. Where appropriate and with your permission, we can share updates or recommendations with your GP, consultant, or other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Can I use private medical insurance?
No. This service does not currently work with private medical insurers.
If I need multiple sessions, can I get a discount?
Discounted rates are available for 6-session and 10-session packages, which are often useful after surgery or for longer-term problems. Contact us directly for details.
